Restaurants & Hospitality

You keep your team trained. Now develop the leaders who keep them.

Where leaders rise.

The Leadership Collective gives every person on your team, from team members to executives, short weekly lessons and practical tools they can use the same week. Built for franchise groups and multi-location operators across QSR, fast casual, full service and hotels. About 20 minutes per person, in every location.

The cost

Retention is the problem hospitality leaders name first

Hourly turnover in limited-service restaurants still runs above 100% a year, and hospitality leaders point directly to retention as their leading workforce challenge. These are the figures behind it.

Limited-service turnover

110%

Annual hourly turnover in limited-service restaurants, rolling 12 months through Q3 2025, according to Black Box Intelligence.

Hotels and restaurants

70-80%

Annual turnover across hotels and restaurants, according to The Staffing Agency 2025 Hospitality Labor Report. Quick service often exceeds 100%.

Leader influence

70%

Of the variance in team engagement is determined by the manager, according to Gallup.

Hospitality HR leaders

31%

Of 500 hospitality chief human resources officers name employee retention as their leading workforce challenge, according to the Checkr 2026 Hotel HR Insights Report.

Hourly replacement

$2,706

The cost to replace one hourly employee, according to Black Box Intelligence.

Manager replacement

$17,651

The cost to replace one general manager, according to Black Box Intelligence.

The gap

You wouldn't put someone on the job untrained.

What you already do

You train for compliance.

Food safety, responsible service, and the certifications your industry requires. Every new hire gets them, and nobody questions it.

What often gets skipped

Certified to manage. Rarely developed to lead.

A manager certification on the wall shows someone learned the procedures: safety, scheduling, policy. It doesn't show they were developed to coach, set expectations and build trust. Knowing how to run a shift is not the same as knowing how to lead the people on it.

The question

Are we solving the problem, or just treating the symptoms?

Operators are trying: more hiring, more perks, more training. The question is whether any of it changes why people leave. We all know the phrase, “people don't quit jobs, they quit bad managers.” More of the same rarely produces a different result. The Leadership Collective goes after the cause: the leaders people work for.

A leader who was never developed loses people faster, and every loss means starting over with hiring and onboarding. The National Restaurant Association names strong managers as central to keeping the people you hire.

The method

Three moves that change it

Every move is built on the R.I.S.E. Impact™ Leadership Framework: Responsibility, Intentionality, Strengthen, Empower. It starts with Responsibility, because leaders own people, not just results.

Developed by Joshua Keelin, a member of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team, from more than 20 years of leading and developing people.

1

Lead with Intentionality

Develop the leaders you have

The leaders you have now set the ceiling for everyone under them. When they commit to their own development with Intentionality, they gain the skills to develop others instead of managing by habit.

2

Strengthen and Empower your people

Build the bench as a result

Leaders who coach to Strengthen and delegate to Empower build the bench as a result. Team leads and managers come from within, and open roles get filled without scrambling.

3

Measure it

What isn't measured doesn't last

Track who is completing the development and what is changing. We will work with you on the reporting that fits your locations.

How it works

Learn it Monday. Use it by Friday.

Every week follows the same three steps: learn one idea, apply it on the job, then lock it in with a written plan. Each month closes with an Elevation Checkpoint.

Members also get a members-only community, a matched accountability partner, and access to live group sessions.

Questions

Common questions

Do my team members need to download an app?

No. Members use the portal in any web browser, on a computer, tablet or phone.

How much time does it take?

About 20 minutes per person per week: two short reads and one Impact Plan. Members work at their own pace.

Why is it built this way?

The Leadership Collective is designed to be Accessible, Affordable and Impactful. We know it isn't feasible to keep pulling large parts of your workforce off the floor for multiple days of development conferences. About 20 minutes a week, in any web browser, fits the schedule you already run.

Is this only for managers?

No. It is written for every role. Leadership is influence, and anyone can lead up, across or down.

Is it built for restaurants, hotels, or both?

Both, and more. The examples apply to any workplace and any role, from quick service and full service restaurants to hotels and multi-location franchise groups.

Who handles billing?

Your organization is billed directly. Employees never see invoices or payment details.

Can I track my team's progress?

Yes. Completion is tracked, and we will work with you on the reporting you need.
